1890s Late Victorian English Silverplate & Frosted Glass Covered Candy Dish

Candy dish, crafted from softly frosted white glass and mounted in elaborate silverplate.
The rounded glass bowl is held within an ornate silver-plated framework featuring pierced decorative borders, scrolling twin handles, applied foliate ornament, and a raised pedestal base. The fitted domed silverplate cover is finished with a decorative foliate finial, giving the piece a substantial and elegant presence.
Made for serving confectionery at the table, this richly decorative piece combines the softness of frosted glass with the architectural detail of Victorian silverplate.
