Finely engraved allegory of Grace: a radiant female figure seated on clouds with palm and books, while rays break through storm clouds to a kneeling group—an image of God’s covenant with Noah after the Flood.

  • Title & text in Latin (top) and German (bottom): “Gratia. Constituit Noae Deus inviolabile pignus… iride testis erat” / “Die Gnade. Gott zeigt Noe durch ein Zeichen, dass sein Bund nicht solle weichen.” (The rainbow as the sign of a covenant that will not depart.)

  • Plate inscribed “… del.” (draughtsman) at lower left and “T. Wechsmuth, sc.” (engraver) at lower right. Page no. 300 at upper right suggests publication in a devotional/emblem book or illustrated Bible.

  • Presented in a matted, gilt frame on a modern stand—a clean, gallery-style display that suits both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Condition: even toning and scattered foxing; a few small spots and age marks; frame shows light wear—overall stable and ready to hang/display with strong impression and plate mark visible.

Dimensions: H 11.5” W 9” D 0.75 “

*Easel not included.
