White faience plate with a molded osier/basket-weave rim edged by a fine hand-painted blue line. The well carries a black transfer (“toile noire”) vignette titled MAI—two 19th-century ladies in a garden—one of the firm’s Months-of-the-Year series. Bright white body, crisp molding, and strong print.

Maker/mark: crowned shield DIGOIN & SARREGUEMINES / FRANCE backstamp (early 20th-century export mark).

Material: glazed earthenware (faience fine) with black transfer and hand-lined border.

Style/period: French transferware; interwar production recalling Second Empire/Rococo Revival scenes.

Condition: clean surface with light utensil/gilt wear and a few tiny kiln specks to the glaze, consistent with age; no repairs observed.

Lovely as a single accent or as part of a wall group of French transferware.

Diameter: 7.25"
