An elegant complete dressing-table suite: a tilting oval mirror with beaded rim, laurel-swag apron and acorn finial; an oval mirrored plateau raised on acanthus feet; a pair of ribbed crystal perfume bottles with jewel-cut stoppers and doré collars; and a lidded jar topped with a rosebud and wrapped in an openwork anthemion/palmette gallery. The mounts are crisp and unified across all pieces—ribbons, laurel, acanthus—so it reads as a true set (not assembled). Cleaned and polished; presents beautifully with light, age-appropriate wear to the gilding and faint silvering to the mirrors.

Around 1880–1915, Europe and the U.S. revived the refined look of Louis XVI—beads, bows, laurel, and classical motifs—ideal for boudoir pieces. Vanity “garnitures de toilette” like this were popular trousseau and anniversary gifts, often pairing cut crystal with doré brass so light would sparkle across a mirrored plateau. Laurel signified honor and achievement, ribbon bows domestic elegance, and anthemion bands echoed ancient palmettes—motifs that telegraphed taste in Edwardian and Belle Époque homes. Sets of this quality were sold by better Parisian department stores and American retailers (think Fifth Avenue shops), bringing an 18th-century note of formality to early-20th-century dressing tables.
